Let the count down begin! The Chicago Marathon is just around the corner. Coach Palumbo & Coach Rielley will both be running the 26.2 miles on Oct. 13th! To get us pumped up for the big race Dawes will be having a Dawes Marathon Week. Classes will be challenged to run 26.2 miles the week before. Oct. 7th- 11th will be Marathon Week during P.E. The Chicago Marathon will be Oct. 13th.

Grades K-2 are starting to work on locomotor movement skills. Some examples of locomotor movements are jogging, skipping, galloping, jumping and hopping. These skills will be used during fun games that will challenge the students to change movements quickly and keep them moving all class long.
Grades 3-5 will begin the year working on cooperative learning. Students will start with icebreaker activities that require them to work together. The goal of the cooperative learning unit is to foster cooperation among students and encourage positive group relationships. This will help students problem solve and work together in a more constructive manner. |
